Everything Is Done Through Prayer

Before Jesus appointed his 12 apostles in the Gospel of Luke he prayed all night. He prayed before He went to the cross and even prayed on the cross. Jesus showed us that life in the kingdom is life in prayer.

What that means for Backyard Church is that every decision we make and every direction we take is seriously considered in prayer and even in fasting and prayer. We believe God is bigger than we can possibly imagine and that God is able and willing...ready...to help us. All we need to do ask and believe He can and will do it. That's what James told us in James 1:5-8 where James (the half-brother of Jesus) wrote this,

"5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do."

We have many decisions to make looking ahead. Decisions of new neighborhoods to reach out into. Decisions on how to train new leaders. Decisions on what to study and how to use people's gifts. We have decisions to make on how to effectively reach out to our neighborhood and community and in all of those things we ask God what He wants most. We ask God what will bring Him the most honor and the kingdom the most growth.

And God continues to answer our prayers time and time again!

If you would like to join our prayer team you can do that through this link to our group in WhatsApp. We just ask that you receive the prayer requests and pray over them. If you would like to reply that you are praying for a particular need you are welcome to do so through "private reply". To do that you hold your finger down on the message you are replying to until the menu pops up and you select to reply privately. This keeps everyone on the team from getting dozens of notifications. You can join the prayer team at this link.

Please be in prayer for this ministry. Pray God would bless it. Pray God would provide everything we need to keep it running. Pray God would send receptive people to us and us to them so people will know the love of Jesus and the power of God in our community!
